All tickets to Machu Picchu are sold online. However, by rules of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, about a thousand tickets are available for sale in person in the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu village). The sales point is located in one of the corners of the main square of the village. Due to the high demand for tickets, it is recommended to buy the ticket in the early hours of the day. How to visit Machu Picchu?

Machu Picchu is the mountain on whose lap sits the Inca citadel built around the fifteenth century by orders of the Inca Pachacutec. There are two ways to visit it. The first is to visit the authorized offices in the city of Cusco. This way you run the risk of not being able to visit the places with more demand such as the Huayna Picchu mountain. The second is to make a reservation online. The latter is the safest and easiest way to get the Machu Picchu ticket.

Here are the advantages of booking online:

  • It is the easiest and fastest way. You can get the tickets without leaving home and in less than 24 hours.
  • It is the safest way to get the Machu Picchu ticket. If you do it once in the city of Cusco you may be surprised to find that there are no more tickets available.
  • There is no risk of losing the ticket because if this happens you only have to reprint the ticket or present it on a mobile device (Tablet, Smartphone) on the day of admission.
  • It is the safest way to plan your trip to Machu Picchu. By separating the day of your entrance you can book train tickets, airplane tickets, hotels, etc.
