1 Cusco – Abra Málaga – Santa María

  • The tour begins at approximately 6:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Cusco's historic center.
  • The first leg will be aboard a tourist transport that will travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the Málaga Pass. But first, we'll make a brief stop in Ollantaytambo for last-minute shopping and to use the restrooms.
  • We'll stop at Abra Málaga, located 4,200 meters above sea level. Here we'll enjoy incredible panoramic views.
  • The first adventure we'll undertake will be cycling, so we'll have a moment to get ready. The route will be steadily descending for almost two hours, until we reach the archaeological site of Huamanmarca, which we'll visit with our professional guide (the guide will accompany us on all four days of the adventures).
  • Nearby, we'll have lunch at a tourist restaurant and take a short break. Afterward, we'll go canoeing on the Urubamba River. This adventure sport also offers all the necessary safety equipment.
  • After canoeing, we'll finally arrive at the town of Santa María, where, after dinner at a tourist restaurant, we'll spend the night in a very comfortable hotel.

2 Santa María – Cocalmayo – Santa Teresa

  • The second day begins at approximately 6:00 a.m. with a delicious breakfast at the Santa María tourist hotel.
  • We will then hike through the verdant mountain landscapes typical of the Cusco jungle. We will also walk a section of the Inca Trail (qhapac ñan), which connected Machu Picchu with the lost Inca city of Vilcabamba.
  • The hike will be a bit strenuous, but everything we see along the way will make it worthwhile. The itinerary continues to the village of Quellomayo with a stop for lunch at a local tourist restaurant.
  • Afterward, we hike for approximately three hours. We'll follow the course of the Vilcanota River until we reach the Cocalmayo hot springs, where we'll enjoy a pleasant afternoon surrounded by beautiful natural views.
  • After relaxing in the hot springs, we'll take a short hike to the town of Santa Teresa. There, after dinner at a tourist restaurant, we'll spend the night in a hotel.

3 Santa teresa – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes

  • The third day starts early (6:00 a.m.) with a delicious breakfast at the hotel where we are staying.
  • The first activity of the day will be a visit to a recreational center where we'll go ziplining. We'll be equipped with all the necessary equipment and training. From there, we'll observe coffee plantations and fruit trees characteristic of the area.
  • Afterwards, we'll hike to the hydroelectric station. There, in the afternoon, we'll have lunch at a tourist restaurant.
  • After lunch, we'll take the famous hike from Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes. The route is easy and only takes two hours. Throughout the journey, we'll be surrounded by lush vegetation and, with luck, we'll see some typical jungle animals.
  • At dusk, we'll arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu because of its proximity to the Inca citadel. There, we'll head to our tourist hotel for a well-deserved shower and rest.
  • Later, we'll meet again for dinner at a tourist restaurant. This day will also include free time to explore the town. Among the popular options, we'll also relax in the Aguas Calientes hot springs (admission not included).

  • On our last day, we'll wake up earlier than usual, around 4:30 a.m. We'll have breakfast at our hotel and get ready to finally explore Machu Picchu.
  • To get to Machu Picchu, we'll board the Consettur bus, which will take us to the entrance of the archaeological sanctuary in just 30 minutes. We also have the option of ascending on foot, although this is a very strenuous route and is more recommended for descending.
  • Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, we'll tour the archaeological site with our tour guide. The tour includes a visit to the main Inca buildings, as well as free time to take the classic postcard photo.
  • At the time indicated by the tour guide, we will return by Consettur bus (a 30-minute ride) to the town of Aguas Calientes. If you booked the buffet lunch at the Tinkuy restaurant, you will need to stay in Machu Picchu (where the restaurant is located) and then return by bus to Aguas Calientes.
