This is the itinerary

The Cusco South Valley tour is a half day experience that takes you. First, you will visit the archaeological site of Tipon. Then, following the route, you will discover the impressive archaeological center of Piquillacta, one of the best preserved citadels of Peru, belonging to the Wari culture (pre-Inca). The last destination will be the church of San Pedro Apostle of Andahuaylillas. Finally we will return to the city of Cusco.

1 Cusco – Tipón - Pikillacta

  • The tour begins at approximately 8:30 a.m. with pickup by tourist transport from your hotel. We then head south of Cusco, specifically to the archaeological site of Tipón (a 1-hour drive).
  • Upon arriving at the Tipón archaeological site, we'll visit some of Peru's best-preserved and least-known Inca structures. Tipón is famous for its water sources and beautiful landscapes.
  • Next, we'll head to Piquillacta (a 25-minute drive), where we'll tour an archaeological site belonging to the Wari culture. This site is famous for its vast expanse, high walls, and wide streets. As throughout the tour, we'll be accompanied by a professional tour guide.

2 Pikillacta – Andahuaylillas – Cusco

  • Before leaving Piquillacta, we will also visit Rumicolca, a huge pyramid-shaped structure also known as 'The Gateway to the Southern Valley of Cusco'.
  • Continuing the tour, we'll visit the traditional village of Andahuaylillas (a 20-minute drive). There, we'll visit the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, one of Cusco's colonial gems. Due to the beauty of its paintings, murals, and baroque interior decoration, this church is known as the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas".
  • Finally, we'll begin our return to Cusco. The entire journey is surrounded by stunning landscapes and lush vegetation.
  • The tour ends at 2:30 p.m. at the door of the tourist's hotel or at a central location in Cusco.
